In the wake of Midwest summer storms: damage recovery

Something occurred last weekend across much of Minnesota that state residents have grown much accustomed to each summer and, consequently, do not react to with much surprise: bad weather.

Every year around this time, it seems that Minnesota and the Midwest states generally are poised between uncertainties, with the region either needing additional moisture or begging off after being pounded with successive waves of storms.

The latter was the case last week, with heavy rains and hail being reported in many counties across the state at the same time that people throughout Minnesota were hitting the roads for their annual visit to the State Fair.

One media outlet report noted tornado watches in many areas of the state, as well as flash flooding.

As people throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa well know, damage from severe summer weather can be outsized, even extreme. Cars and trucks are pelted by hail. Home and business owners suffer significant premises damage from water inflow, high winds, lightning, fire and other storm-related factors.

Our law firm helps insured individuals and businesses recover losses suffered from storm damage. We know that property owners are often under tremendous stress and pressure in the aftermath of nasty consequences that storms can bring, and we bring all our resources to bear to ensure that they are paid fully and promptly by insurers with a duty to act.

Roeder Smith Jadin, PLLC, is staffed by lawyers who previously represented insurance companies. We understand insurers’ motivations and claim handling tactics, as well as the general strategies they often employ in the wake of severe storms that leave them liable for damage payments to customers who pay them premiums in good faith.
