Legal Administrative Assistant

Roeder Smith Jadin, PLLC is currently looking to hire a Legal Administrative Assistant in our Bloomington, MN Office. This position will provide a full range of legal administrative support to the assigned attorneys in a timely and efficient manner. The successful candidate will have the ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively in a deadline-oriented litigation environment. You must also demonstrate the ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations. Your job duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Efficiently and thoroughly understand how to use all necessary Firm software (Microsoft Office 2013, RocketMatter, QuickBooks) and be able to correctly perform the e-filing function in Minnesota state and federal courts
  • Maintain client files in a timely and appropriate manner, including performance of all necessary organization, docketing and calendaring, and document indexing and storage
  • Accurately track billable time, process payment requests, and coordinate client billing process using Firm software (RocketMatter and QuickBooks)
  • Create, edit and process documents and other work product in a timely and accurate manner
  • Demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Manage time and volume of work effectively and possess good planning and prioritization skills
  • Possess good planning, prioritization and organizational skills to manage volume of work effectively
  • Take a proactive approach to learn and apply the skills required to meet the team workload 
  • Cooperate readily and demonstrate a positive approach and support for others
  • Actively contribute to problem solving to create mutually supported alternatives
  • Assume responsibility for a "fair share" of duties, coordinate time-off with team members and foster teamwork with the group

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of high school graduation (prefer completion of professional legal secretarial degree program or paralegal program)
  • Prefer 3+ years legal administrative experience (3-5 years administrative experience may be considered)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 2013, particularly Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient with QuickBooks accounting software
  • Excellent administrative/secretarial and proofreading skills 

Compensation:

  • Salary DOE, subject to employment anniversary review
